q Bingo Night: An annual springtime event run with the assistance of teachers and staff at DDES. Join the fun and help distribute prizes or staff the snack bar! 1 – 2 hours only

q Box Tops For Education: A monthly fundraiser with prizes for the top collectors and a class party for the top collecting class. Help distribute prizes, display winners, collect box tops or count them. Can alternate months from 30 minutes up to 3 hours – great for friends to work on together!

q Building & Grounds: Help with indoor or outdoor school improvement projects. Exercise your green thumb or design ambitions! Monthly or quarterly as needed 1 – 3 hours

q Character Education: Work with the guidance counselor to coordinate activities and rewards to promote positive character traits. The students love to be recognized! 1 - 2 hours during Character Education Week.

q Cultural Arts: Bring the Arts to our school by coordinating informational assemblies or enrichment programs. Great for anyone wanting some creative challenge! Volunteer times will vary.

q Communications: Help design, edit and distribute the monthly PTA newsletter (hard copies or email). Keep our website up to date with current events and contests. Take pictures or maintain the PTA bulletin board. Can alternate monthly 1 – 3 hours with other volunteers.

q Dragonfly Dash: This is a popular event and will be held March 6^th. We need lap counters, snack servers and a cheering squad to motivate our students as they run/walk to raise money for the PTA/DDES. Everyone gets outside and the students love it! Coordinate volunteer times with friends or take the time to meet other parents. 1 – 4 hours

q Fifth Grade Celebration: This is the big end of year celebration for our fifth graders and it’s a blast! We need volunteers to plan, organize, and setup. Planning sessions begin in May. The celebration is one day in June. Volunteer times will vary between 1 – 4 hours.

q Hospitality: There are three appreciation “socials” for our teachers this year. Can you help coordinate an early morning breakfast or a midday snack? Call friends to donate baked goods, coordinate with local restaurants, setup a serving table or brew coffee and be ready to meet some very happy teachers! Work with friends and sneak a bite too! Volunteer 30 minutes to 2 hours.

q Literacy & Science Enrichment: Encourage reading by working with library staff and teachers to coordinate contests and special reading events. Or bring additional science experiences to the classroom through a joint effort with science museums, local schools, or from your own network and background. Volunteer times vary depending on level of interest.

q Membership: Help sell school spirit wear and gear during special events, coordinate and distribute the school directory or hand out membership forms and collect emails for the PTA committees. Volunteer times will vary 30 minutes to 2 hours.

q Volunteer Pool: Can’t decide but still want to volunteer? We will add your name to our email group and notify you as we approach the event dates. Just respond when you can participate!
